Jesse Klotz was born and raised in Wisconsin. He started throwing shot put and discus in high school and continued into college. He played football and participated in track and field at The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, graduating with a degree in Web and Digital Media Development. He met his wife through throwing and they have been a track family ever since. He coached at Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh, WI for five years before moving to Utah at the end of 2018.
