Highland Invitational

Highland Invitaitonal was pretty good for our team for the most part. It was a good race to see our fitness level and get rid of the cob webs of not racing for a while. There was alot of good things that happened but there was some things we definitely can work on to help our races be that much better. Such as starting out in good position and having a strong mentally tough middle mile.

We had some really good performances that need to be highlighted. The first race of the day Justin Roylance set the tone for the whole team by running sub 17 minutes in and taking 6th overall. His time would of won the race last year. In the Fresman sophmore race Kara Johansen ran a stellar race finishing with a time of 21:08.

In the JV Girls our girls did not dissapoint taking 3rd overall. Rachel Rigbey and Britney Whalin were both in the top 15 with great times. Brooke Gray ran really tough and finished in the top 25. Breann Lang and Becca finished off the team scoring with Breann Lang running a really big PR. In the JV Boys Jonny led the way running our teams 3rd fastest time. Craig Bluth and Braden Robbins both ran tough as well.

The varsity race had some good performances with Katie Christopherson and Duncan Forest finishing as our top runners. Kazia Glick came in 2nd for our girls with a 20:14. Our varsity team wasn't quite where we wanted them to be but we had a few key runners that didn't run. Great athletes are really good at learning from their races whether the race was good or bad. Make sure each of you take a good look at how you raced and find places that you can improve and run better.
