Cougar Relays Distance Medley Relays

In a rare display of good will, the weather gods of track & field bestowed warm temperatures, sunshine, and a gentle breeze upon the small group of athletes competing at the Cougar Relays, making for an enjoyable day and solid performances.

The Girls Distance Medley Relay bested the old school record (13:21.69), finishing in second place with a new school record of 13:10.74. The relay team members were Kara Johansen (1200M), Haylee Mather (400M), Katie Christopherson (800M), and Samantha Jacobson (1600M).

The Boys Distance Medley Relay also made a bid for the school record, and despite running well, they just missed it, finishing in a close third place with a time of 11:01.83 (the DMR school record is 10:58.42). The relay team members were Ty Davis (1200M), Austin Diede (400M), Matthew Parker (800M), and Ethan Matz (1600M).

The season is off to a great start and we’re excited to see what our runners can do this year!
