Nebo Invitational

Coming off a tough week of running last week and a down week this week our team came in to Nebo ready to run. This race was a great experience for the athletes! The race provided the teams with a lot of ups and downs. In the freshman/sophomore races we had a couple very strong races by Shambrea Ogden and Mathew Parker. Shambrea found herself battling for first up until the very end where she took third being one tenth of a second behind the second place runner from Hurricane. Not too far behind Shambrea we had Riley Wood and Kamryn Rossberg both placing in the top 16.

On the boys side Matthew Parker fought strong to keep himself near the front of the running pack. He put in a great effort, especially at the end where he refused to be outkicked, and finished fourth in his race.

Our JV had some strong races from many runners. Brooke Gray and Brooklyn Dutton fought near the front of their race up until the finish. They even put a little fear into a good Pleasant Grove Varsity team. Their official places were 8th and 9th respectively but that included coming in behind five Pleasant Grove varsity runners. On the boys side both Braden Robbins and Michael McLean had strong races with Braden finishing 22nd and Michael coming away with his best race of the year.

On the varsity side the race was tough against some really good teams. Our boys and girls both fought hard to put themselves in good positions. Sam Jacobsen led the girls side finding herself just over 19 minutes and finishing in the top 20. On the boys side we had a 3-mile PR tie as Johnathan Roy put himself in a position to finish first of our runners very closely followed by Duncan Forrest. These two boys pushed each other hard during the last mile of the race to finish very strong.

As mentioned in the beginning there were multiple ups and downs throughout the races. We saw improvements and disappointments. Overall, GREAT JOB RUNNERS! We now look forward to Park City!
