Park City Invitational

With weather that was sunny but cool, and a scenic course through the hills, the Park City Invitational gave our runners an opportunity to see how far they’ve come this season.Led by Rylee Wood, the JV girls came ready to race, earning a 2nd place finish and her best time so far this season—she kicked hard to finish a mere 5 seconds behind the 1st finisher. Other PR's were set by Breeann Lang, Kamryn Rossberg, Lauren Lund, Jenna Young, Veronica Richards, Ashley Lund, Alyssa Muller, and Kayley Ballard. Welcome back to Kim Adair, who ran her first race coming off an injury.

The Varsity girls all ran a strong race, despite flying under the radar with a deceptive 7th place finish. Contributing factors: Brittany Wahlin was apparently so stealthy crossing the finish line behind Kayzia that she didn’t even make it into the results (we know the truth Brittany), and Zoe Barlome sat this one out to speed the recovery of her injured foot for Region. Comparing the Varsity girls’ times from this race to the times run at the Highland Invite, all ran at least 30 seconds to 1 minute faster in Park City—well done! place finish overall.

On the boys side, JV finished in 5th place overall, led by Michael McLean. JV boys who set personal bests at this race include David Rollo, Isaac Worsham, Braden Figgins, Connor Kochevar, Brady Allred, Jackson Rasmussen, and Chandler Thornock. Great job JV boys!

Although no PR’s were set this race by the Varsity boys, some good things happened. Ammon Baker ran aggressively, leading our boys’ team for most of the race. In the end, Payton Ramynke fought for his first ever, first on the team finish, followed by Braden Robbins and Jonathan Roy. This friendly rivalry on the boy’s team pushes everyone to run harder and faster—keep it up guys.

At this point in the season, it’s time to truly celebrate the amazing gift your body is and what it can do. Most of the really hard workouts are done; there’s fine-tuning, tapering, and peaking ahead. By showing up each day to workouts, getting good rest and nutrition, and doing the little things it takes to succeed, you’ve been able to push your body beyond its limits and set new goals. The little things matter—continue to show up and do these little things, and big things will happen!
