American Fork Grass Relays

Wow!!!!! What a morning of races! This morning we had the pleasure of seeing impressive performances by many of our athletes. I will highlight a few specific runners but there are no cross country PR's because the relays were only two miles. Before I get to highlights we'd like to congratulate everyone for coming into the race mentally and physically prepared to run. Everyone raced really hard and we saw a lot of successes.

First off, we congratulate the Boys JV for their first win of the season and the first time that our JV has ever beaten AF! Well done boys! From the race we'd like to highlight the top five, Johnny Roy, Matt Parker, Ethan Matz, Craig Bluth, and Tracen Warnick for their very strong races. Johnny and Matt were had phenomenal races below eleven minutes! As a team these guys did awesome!

Staying on the boys side, our varsity team pushed very hard to find themselves in 15th place out of 39 Teams! After a tough hot race Duncan Forest led the varsity pack with a time of 11:01. We had some feelings of disappointment from our varsity boys, but they worked really hard and we will look forward to pre-region next week. We'll be prepared and come in howling!

Our freshman/sophomore boys and girls came out blazing! They were excited to run and it was really fun to watch them put their hearts into this race. This pack was led by Ty Davies on the boys side and Brinley Bartlome (15:08) on the girls side, but they didn't post times for the freshman/sophomore boys race. :0(

Our JV girls came out excited and also ran really well today. The pack came in with three leaders running in the 13:50's. Holly Haymore, Kayzia Glick, and Brooklyn Dutton faught hard together to all place in the top 40. Good job working together girls!

As for our Varsity girls, well they just took 3rd against some really tough teams. Nothing much...NOT!!! What an amazing performance by our girl's varsity team! Sam Jacobsen started the team off with a great race against some fantastic runners. Kate Christophersen then climbed her way up from 13th to 2nd. We then remained in 2nd until our final runner. Shambrea Ogden finished off the relay with an extremely strong race placing us in 3rd. What a wonderful relay by our girls!

Overall, all I can say is, WOW!!!! We have a fantastic team! I'd say that even with all of the successful races what we will be remembered for as a team was our camaraderie and our CHEERING!!!!!! Our team relentlessly ran from spot to spot to spot in order to encourage and cheer on our runners. We out cheered every other team there! What an amazing team we have! You all rock!! Well done everyone!
