We got off to a great start Saturday morning as our Frosh/Soph Boys raced their way to a 2nd place finish, led by Ty Davis and Joey Nokes with Talon Rodriguez, Caleb Nokes, and Robert O’Hara rounding out the top five. Other notable performances came from Joseph Broadhead and Trairong Muensilp who both got big PR’s.

In the Frosh/Soph Girls’ race, Emily Bluth and Brynlee Bartlome worked together to finish 33rd and 35th respectively, followed by Kaitlin Richards, Abigail Coleman, and Hannah Figgins who all turned in great performances to help earn a 5th place team finish. Also worth mentioning, a big PR for Jordan Puzey—way to go!

The Varsity Girls were warmed up and ready to go when a change in the schedule pushed their race back. They were able to keep their focus, roll with the punches, and avoid being frustrated over something that was out of their control. When race time finally came, they were ready—AGAIN. Sam Jacobson finished 17th with a personal best of 19:12, followed by Katie Christopherson at 19:42.5. Kara Johansen also ran a personal best for the season of 20:15.5; she and Shambrea Ogden pushed hard together the entire race when with 100 meters to go, Shambrea seemed to struggle to stay on her feet. After finishing, Shambrea was treated by BYU’s trainers and then transported to the hospital for further medical care. Everyone is thinking of you Shambrea—get well

soon!

The Varsity Boys race proved exciting as Ethan Matz narrowly edged past Duncan Forrest to finish as Riverton’s first runner with a PR of 16:43.1. Our top five finished within 26.1 seconds of each other, and all seven Varsity boys finished within 44 seconds of each other to claim 7th place as a team.

Finishing in 5th place, the JV Boys also raced well with season PR’s set by David Rollo, Jackson Walker, Adam Frampton, Noah Sorenson, and Brady Allred.

Last, but definitely not least, the JV Lady Silverwolves used pack power to push each other and keep moving up in the final race of the meet. Rachel Rigby and Kayzia Glick ran aggressively side-by-side, leading much of the race to finish in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Brooklyn Dutton held off opponents and fought to the finish for her 8th place spot. Becca Chidester, Breeann Lang and Kamryn Rossberg all PR’d and along with Bailie Spears, gave us seven runners in the top 30 and a first place team finish by ONE point over Davis, and all but a few of our JV runners achieved season PR’s. Super exciting end to the meet!

All in all, our team is looking strong and supporting each other amazingly. As coaches, we are proud of all you’ve accomplished so far this season—keep up the good work!
