What a great test for our team! Murray proved to be a difficult race where we had a chance to once again see our weaknesses and our strengths. This race was meant to be an opportunity to see where we are and where we need to go from here. All of our athletes had an opportunity to try something new and test themselves during this race.

The races started out opposite of normal with the seeded/varsity races. Boys went first and put up quite a fight. This race didn't provide any of our boys that ran a new PR but it did allow them an opportunity to prove their strength on hills and unven ground. Our boys challanged those around them and worked extremely well as a team. They placed 6th as a team out of 21 teams and the top five scorers all finished within 22 seconds of each other, which is AWESOME! These top five were Duncan Forrest, Ammon Baker, Ethan Matz, Jonathan Roy, and Matthew Parker. We'd also like to note an opportunity that Ty Davis, one of our freshman, had to run with our varsity team this week. Well done to all of our varsity boys!

The second race was the girls seeded/varsity race. The girls got off to a really good start. Sam Jacobson put herself in great position within the top ten for the first mile to finish in 20th by the end. Following Sam came a close pack of three all within 6.2 seconds of each other, Kate Christopherson, Shambrea Ogden, and Kara Johansen. Overall the team ended in 6th place like unto the boys team. Our girls ran really hard and learned together as a team. Well done girls!

The next races were our open races. Our girls and boys did really well as teams and found

within their ranks some runners with new PR's. The girls team took 4th and the boys took 5th overall. Finishing top for the boys was Tracen Warnick who came in 16th overall. Tracen has worked really hard at overcoming an injury and it's great to see him getting back into the groove of racing. Not too far behind Tracen was Payton Ramynke and a great team of boys! Along with Tracen's PR for this year came a PR as well for Nolan Jensen and Dallin McArthur.

On the girls side there were some strong races including a PR by Veronica Richards. The girls ran really hard to take their 4th place position in the end. Well done boys and girls!

For the freshman/sophomore race we saw some more challanges as well as some good growth. The boys team took 6th overall led by Talon Rodriguez and the Nokes brothers. This run included PR's for a number of boys, namely Taylor Rowser, Jaron Hall, Mitchell Newkirk, and Alvin Jensen. Well done boys! The girls team started off well and rounded out their finish in 11th place this week. The girls worked hard on this difficult course and have learned a lot. Well done runners!

This week was quite challanging and difficult after coming off such a successful race at BYU last week. Our team is truly showing their resilience and their strength through difficult races as this one. We look forward to a week off of racing for specific work to prepare the team for the last half of our season. We're really excited for the last half of our season! Great job boys and girls! We're looking forward to a awesome finish!
