Jump Team - Performance Recap
Coaches Meet @ Copper Hills
"Some times it pays to wait" and we did wait, in longest Invitation of the season consuming twelve hours Saturdays Day Light and I believe it paid-off as the Jump Team once again represented the Silverwolves with excellent performances placing three Long Jumpers in the final field of seven that participated at the Coaches Meet this past Saturday.
New Comers -
- Charley McGaughey Long Jump 20' 10" [A state Qualifying performance]
- Tyler Smart Long Jump 20' 5.25" Leap placing him fifth in the deepest, extremely talented field of Long Jumpers this year
Staple -
- Mitchell Wood with a recorded Long Jump of 20' 3.75" and other flights that should have landed him a top of the annual leader board
The Long Jump dominate continued in the girls venue as well with Abbie Walker adding inch after inch in her quest for that school record that is now only 2.50 inches away -
with her most recent recorded leap of 16' 11.50" and a very strong second place finish in a stacked field of woman jumpers.
The high Jump crew are looking forward to the Davis Invite, where they always perform very well for one reason or another, and try to get Carter Comish and Dallin Barnes qualified for the State Competition
on May 20 & 21, 2016 Colby Stone is pushing the bar higher in his quest for a PR of 6' 4" prior to graduation. Dalton McClees is on the injured list with knee problems and under doctor orders is resting the
problem knee for a week or two! Dalton is State Qualified already and all efforts are to have him 100% on the day of the high Jump finals.
Team Captain Colby Stone and Coach Chelak are studying the Girls sprinters ranks for "potential" additions to gather some more valuable points with Abbie on the State Championship weekend.
Any Volunteers to join the programs successful ranks contact Colby or Coach Chelak directly.
